Identity Inc | Certified Medical Assistant

Pay: $22-$25/hour | Full-Time 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Tasks (Many are shared tasks)
● Check/route faxes
● Check/route voicemail messages and Athena cases/messages
● Accept and process patient payments in clinic and over the phone
● Answer and return phone calls when possible
● Keep common areas clean: Dishes as needed, bathrooms as needed
● Keep coffee and office supplies stocked and organized
● Call for lab pick up if necessary
● Help new patients with new patient packets and enter information into EHR
● Follow through with clinical in box tasks through Athena
● Take patient vitals as needed for daily appointments
● Assist providers with clinical tasks as requested to include injections, help with procedures,
etc
● Check email and Athena Text

● Clock in/Out
● Check in visits as needed
● Prior Authorization for medication refills
● Set up prescription refills for providers within Athena if they come in through fax or phone
call
● Clean exam rooms between each patient, sanitize hands between each patient
● Stock Exam Rooms
Weekly Tasks
● Delete computer document history to maintain HIPAA compliance
● Look ahead at next week’s schedule for all providers and identify any scheduling concerns
clinical needs (shared task)
Monthly Tasks
● Participate in Front Desk, Individual Supervision and Staff meetings/trainings as scheduled
● Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
● The qualified applicant will have at minimum a high school diploma and GED.
Associates degree preferred in Business Administration, certification as a CMA or CNA
or other front office support certification or degree program.
● The qualified applicant will have training and certification that allow them to train parents
on trauma informed/based parenting skills, as well as provide case management or
care coordination to clients as directed by the provider.

PREFERRED SKILLS
Billing/coding, Athena, GSuite, EHR experience, multiline telephone, experience in social work
and medical setting, basic office management skills (fax, scan, e-mail, etc.), experience
working with community organizations and/or non-profit organizations, experience working with
the LGBTQ+ community.

Identity | Patient Coordinator Lead

Reports To: Operations Director/Clinic Director
FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt
Rate: $50,000-$60,000 per year, DOE

This position primarily works at Identity/Identity Health Clinic to advance the healthcare of LGBTQ+
Alaskans, including first level supervision of administrative support staff, performing regular
administrative tasks, maintaining positive relationships with clients and supporting overall clinic
needs. The position also spends some time providing logistical and administrative support to Identity,
Inc. overall.


Role and Responsibilities:
Supervision
● Supervise Patient Coordinators and support staff at Identity Health Clinic, including CMA and
Administrative Assistant(s) as it pertains to the day to day operations of the clinic. (Global
supervision/disciplinary action, etc is the role of the Clinical Director/Operations Director).
● Create and monitor provider and support staff schedules within the Athena System
● Trai, coach and support staff as needed to comply with Identity policies and procedures
as it pertains to day to day front desk operations
● Coordinate bi-weekly timesheets and hiring paperwork for Patient Coordinators and
support staff
● Supervise and contribute to improving the flow related to the following daily tasks of Patient
Coordinators
● Act as a SuperUser in Athena and oversee EHR training of PC and admin staff.
● Support organization wide operations as needed including tabling, coordination and office
management efforts
Front Desk Administrative
● Perform front desk duties as needed alongside Patient Coordinators and act as backup
when other PC’s are not available, including answering phones, checking patients in/out,
taking payments, data entry, routing calls, faxes and messages
● Provide excellent customer service to clients, providers, partners and staff.
● Act as the first line of customer service relations, escalating higher needs issues
to Clinic Director/Operations Director
● Execute weekly and monthly best financial practices and run batch reports.

Clinic Operations
● Assist in quality assurance tasks and reporting
● Oversees patient retention and new patient scheduling
● Works with Clinic Director/Operations Director on processes/policies and
procedures
● Oversees Financial Best Practices as it relates to Patient Coordination

Qualifications and Education Requirements
● Active support of Identity’s mission
● 1 year experience in administrative functions
● At least 6 months supervisory experience
● Willingness to learn
● Compassion for others
● Willingness to work as part of a team
● Organized
● Ability to work independently
● Experience working with electronic health records
● Ability to to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
● Must be able to pass a background check
● Must be able to treat everyone with respect and dignity
● The qualified applicant will have at minimum a high school diploma or GED
● Other relatable experiences considered.

Preferred Skills & Experience

experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, lived experience as a member of the LGBTQ+
community, lived experience of a person needing gender-affirming and sexuality-affirming health care,
lived experience in Black, Indigenous and people of color communities.
